Denounce Media War against Venezuela and Hugo Chavez
HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 7 (ACN) Experts denounced in Caracas an
ongoing media campaign aimed at misinforming the Venezuelan
people and destabilizing the country.
Speaking to Venezuelan Television, sociologist Mariclem
Stelling said that the local right-wing circles are totally
broken up as they try to unsuccessfully discredit the
Bolivarian government.
The opposition circles only get together at election time
and then they break up into pseudo-organizations and fade
away, said the sociologist, who added that the opposition is
made up of isolated voices.
Stelling said that national and international political
forces are acting with irony and necrophilia regarding the
health condition of President Hugo Chavez, in an attempt to
get him out of the political scene.
With this aim they are using private media and social
networks to fabricate messages in tune with their economic
and political interests, she said and noted that for the
opposition Chavez and Venezuela are just merchandize that
sells well, according to PL news agency.
Stelling said that the most deceitful or treacherous role is
being played by the media in Spain, a country involved in
undemocratic situations with respect to Venezuela.
Meanwhile, journalist Elena Salcedo said that those who are
acting against Venezuela are information mercenaries trying
to distort the country’s reality. They respond to the
imperial bourgeoisie, whose only goal is overthrowing
Chavez, she pointed out.
