Sergio Valdes, director for exports with Havana
Club International, told ACN that this exclusive drink is aged
in white oak barrels, and is the fruit of the work of the
island’s top rum experts.
Valdes explained that the best stored spirits meeting technical
demands for this brand are selected twice a year.
Its main destination will be the population segment with high
purchasing power and it will cost around 40 Euros a bottle.
Marc Beuve-Mery, director general of Havana Club International,
told ACN that, for this first year, they expect to sell over
30,000 cases, and that he’s confident that it will be very well
received by customers.
He pointed out that the official presentation of Master’s Choice
will take place during Havana’s International Trade Fair, which
will open its doors on November 1st at the Cuban capital’s
Expocuba exhibition center.
Havana Club’s production is going well, with significant results
during the first three
quarters of the year, and its commercialization will be expanded
to other non-traditional markets, like that of China.
According to estimates, there will be a 10 percent growth in
sales this year (300,000 cases) as compared to 2009.
At present, Havana Club sales exceed 3.3 million cases
worldwide, commercialized in 148 countries.
