The concert, organized by Colombian
singer Juanes and the Cuban Music Institute, opened with the
performance by Puerto Rican Olga Tañon, followed by Cuban X Alfonso,
her countryman Danny Rivera and Ecuadorian Juan Fernando Velasco,
who said that despite the opposition of many to their coming to
Cuba, the Cuban people deserved it.
Also, Velasco thanked Cubans for
giving him the chance to send the world a peace and resistance
message.
The Ecuadorian singer introduced then
Cuban singer and artistic director of this concert, Amaury Perez,
who sang two of his most memorable songs.
The concert is taking place on the eve
of the World Peace Day, this September 21st.
