Cuba and Viet Nam Implement Program to Boost Rice Production
PINAR DEL RIO, Cuba, Feb 2 (acn) A Cuba-Viet Nam cooperation program to obtain seeds and to organize and boost the production of rice will soon be implemented in 40,000 hectares of the Caribbean nation, including the westernmost Cuban province of Pinar del Rio.

Cuban Sugar Mill Produces 25,000 Tons without Spending Fuel Oil

CAMAGUEY, Cuba, Apr 11 (acn) The sugar refinery mill Argentina, in the province of Camaguey, produced 25,000 tons of refined sugar without consuming fuel oil in energy generation and meeting the plan for this year.     Located outside the municipality of Florida, the mill used biomass instead of oil as fuel for the furnaces, advisor for the sugar business group (Grupo Empresarial Azucarero) Camagüey, Sergio Monteagudo told ACN.
