Cuban Leonardo Padura Wins Intl. Historic Novel Prize
HAVANA, Cuba, May 5 (acn) The novel Herejes, by Cuban Leonardo Padura, won the 10th edition of the Ciudad de Zaragoza International Historic Novel Prize, selected by majority in an intense session of the jury, which highlighted the literary quality and historic rigor of the work.
The acknowledgement, which includes 20,000 Euros and a bronze sculpture by Aragonese artist Jose Miguel Fuertes, will be handed over on May 28 at the hall of sessions of the city council of the Aragonese capital, informed from Spain the Europa Press news agency.
The novel won over three finalists: La casa de los dioses de alabastro , by Magdalena Lasala (Martinez Roca publishing house); Paris, by Edward Rutherfurd (Roca Editorial de Libros), and Ronin, by Francisco Narla (Temas de Hoy), among a total of 41 works.
