Outstanding Company Honored for Old Havana restoration
HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 22 (acn) The Cabildo Industrial
Productions Company, ehich has played an important role in
the restoration of Old Havana, received the status of
2011National Vanguard, the highest award offered by the
Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) to an enterprise.
The
statues
awards
this
company
that
belongs
to the
Construction
Ministry
for its
work
during
the
previous
year,
when
major
indexes
were met
and
requirements
related
to
productivity
and
efficiency.
Jesus
Vicente
González
Nieto,
general
director
of
Cabildo,
told
reporters
that the
commercial
production
plan was
surpassed
by four,
while
revenues
and
profits
reached
almost
10
He
stressed
the
importance
of these
results,
especially
when
taking
into
account
the
problems
the
company
went
through
earlier
this
year, as
imported
supplies
didn’t
arrived
in due
time,
causing
major
delays
in the
works.
In the
ceremony,
Eusebio
Leal
Spengler,
Havana
City
Historian
said he
was very
proud of
this
group,
for
their
dedicated
work in
the
restoration
of Old
Havana.
Works
such as
the
National
Theater
of Cuba,
Terral
Hotel
and
structures
surrounding
the
city’s
seawall,
has
witnessed
the
dedication
with
which
Cabildo
workers
do their
job said
González
Nieto.
The
award-winning
company's
main
mission
is to
reduce
the cost
of
reastorations
underway
in the
historic
center
of
Havana,
and has
some 15
workshops
on
various
types to
produce
their
materials
such as:
apparel,
footwear,
wood and
aluminum
carpentry,
among
others
