Cubans in Brazil Reject US’s Hostile Policy against the Island
HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 10 (ACN) The Jose Marti National Association of Cubans Residing in Brazil urged the US administration to stop lying and end its shameful practice of blacklisting the island, which offends the Cuban people and discredits the international fight on terrorism.

“Our association joins the strong rejection by our government of such a sensitive and slanderous accusation,” reads a declaration issued by the organization, which was posted on the Internet, according to JR newspaper.

Last July 31, the US State Department published its unilateral and arbitrary list of states sponsors of terrorism, which included Cuba, under allegations that the Cuban banking system has not adopted enough measures to face money laundry and transactions linked to that crime.

“It is well known  that the United States is the biggest money laundry center in the world, while the lack of regulations by its financial system triggered the current economic crisis,” the declaration points out.

The Cubans residing in Brazil said that the inclusion of Cuba on that list is aimed at justifying the over-fifty-year US economic blockade of the island and  chasing financial transactions to strangle Cuban economy.

“Who has given Washington the right to act as world judge on terrorism, while it is the United States that harbors, protects and encourages international terrorists, such as Luis Posada Carriles and many others, who has inflicted huge human and material damage to the Cuban people? Reads the document by the Cuban association.
