The
information was given by
Venezuela’s deputy
foreign minister for
Africa Reinaldo Bolivar
in a TV appearance, in
which he referred to the
agreements reached in
the meeting aimed at
consolidating bilateral
contacts between CELAC
and India through annual
meetings and visits by
high-level officials.
In a
communiqué, Venezuela’s
foreign ministry
expressed the
willingness of both
parties to boost
bilateral cooperation,
particularly in the
fields of trade and
investment, energy
security, agriculture,
science and technology,
culture and education.
They also agreed to
strengthen cooperation
with international
entities.
The
communiqué also stresses
the willingness of CELAC
and India to jointly
work in the benefit of
developing countries,
transform the United
Nations Organization and
face climate change and
the world economic
crisis, PL news agency
reported.
The
CELAC Troika was
represented by
Venezuela’s foreign
minister Nicolas Maduro,
Chile’s foreign minister
Alfredo Moreno and
Cuba’s deputy foreign
minister Rogelio Sierra.
The
CELAC representatives
are scheduled to visit
China, which along with
India, is a member of
the BRICS Group, made up
of Brazil, Russia,
India, China and South
Africa.
