Book on English Music Composers at Havana Summer Festival
HAVANA, Cuba, July 7 (acn) A book on English music composers
and interpreters from the 1960-1980s was launched Friday
evening in Havana as part of a book festival that opened the
cultural summer season in Cuba.
The research work by journalist
Joao Pablo Farinas offers readers a look at major figures of
reference in styles such as Jazz, Rock, Soul, Blue, Country and
Pop.
This book may help identify or find information about a specific
composer or music band from that period of time, marked by great
music hits.
The book festival displayed stands along the popular 23rd Avenue
that crosses downtown Havana, where people from all walks of
life packed to find the books of their interest.
Author Joao Pablo Farinas has also participated in international
movie festivals as a critic and has cooperated with a Cuban
popular music TV show, headed by renowned TV director Guillermo
Vilar.
