University Graduated over 15 Thousand Professionals since
1959
HAVANA, Cuba, July 6 (ACN) The
University of Havana has graduated 115.615 professionals in
different specialties since 1959,with the largest figure of
graduates in the 2011-2012 school year.
A total of 4 683
graduates finished their higher education courses this year,
according to Juventud Rebelde newspaper.
During the graduation ceremony, University rector Gustavo
Cobreiro said that in correspondence with the country’s
policies, higher education increased in academic efficiency
and lower the number of drop outs.
The University also registered a largest number of
participants in postgraduate courses, with 81 doctors and
991 master’s degrees in sciences.
The rector recalled that before the Revolutionary triumph in
1959, the number of graduates was very little over one
thousand in a population of six million inhabitants.
