Cuban Hammer Thrower Moreno Finishes Third in Moscow
HAVANA, Cuba,
Jun 18 (acn) Cuban hammer thrower Yipsi Moreno, silver medallist in
Beijing Olympics in 2008, finished third in an athletics meeting in
Moscow, Russia.
In the Znamenskiy Memorial
Moreno threw the implement to 72.40 meters, a
good shot this far into the season to trail Tatyana Lysenko
(RUS-75.48)
and Gulfiya Khanafeyeva (RUS- 73.48), according to the event’s
website.
Moreno is Cuba’s best hope of a medal in London 2012 in that
speciality,
considering she is the current Pan American champion and won a
