Obama’s
Advisor Fueled Subversion in Cuba
HAVANA, Cuba, June 6 (ACN)—The
recently appointed US Director for Western Hemispheric
Affairs, Ricardo Zuniga, encouraged subversive actions in
Cuba during his work at the US Interest Section in Havana.
An article by journalist Jean
Guy Allard, published on Granma newspaper,
reads that Zuniga headed the sector of subversion and
dissidents in
coordination not only with the US Department of State but
also with the
Central Intelligence Agency and the Mob in the US city of
Miami.
According to Allard, who specializes in issues relevant to
the US’s
hostile Cuba policy, the advisor appointed by Obama in late
May achieved a
record in terms of interference in Cuba.
His lack of respect was that huge against Cuba, its people
and sovereignty
that he even encouraged a daily confrontation ambiance based
on rude
provocations, said the journalist.
In his article, Allard recalled a speech by Cuban Revolution
leader Fidel
Castro back in April 2003 in which he cited several
incidents linking the
newly appointed US official and James Cason, who was the
Chief of the US
Interest Section in Havana at that time.
In that speech, Fidel Castro said that between January 19
and 25, 2003,
both US officials toured the eastern provinces of Las Tunas,
Holguin,
Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo. In these regions
they provided
counterrevolutionary groups with “material.”
The duet Cason-Zuniga openly dedicated to creating an
opposition party in
Cuba, the journalist says and adds that at the end of his
mission here,
Zuniga was acknowledged for his anticommunist work and was
appointed
official with the Cuba office at the US Department of State.
