HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 2 (acn) Cuba
ranked first in the category of World’s Friendliest Country
in the 20th Travelranking Awards that the Spanish magazine
Agenttravel grants once a year.
Alejandro Gonzalez, Cuba's
ambassador to Spain, and Iyolexis Correa,
director of the Office of Information and Promotion of
Tourism to Spain
and Portugal, received the award on behalf of their country
at a ceremony
held at the Melia Castilla in Madrid.
The Cyban Ministry of Tourism announced in a press release
that the awards
ceremony was presided over by Manuel Butler, director

Tourism Institute of Spain (Turespaña).
This time the Spanish specialized magazine granted awards in
27 categories
covering the entire industry, including airlines, food
service and hotel
accommodation.
The award is considered a classic in the tourism sector,
since it only
takes into consideration the assessments made by thousands
of travel
agents, that are published each month in the magazine
issues.
Agenttravel, the oldest Spanish tourism specialized magazine
contributes
to the promotion of Cuba as a destination in the Iberian
country, a major
emitting market to Cuba.
