HAVANA, Cuba, May 31 (acn) Cuba
will paint on June 1st every corner of the island in the
colors of love, joy, hope and tenderness, to regale its
children with an unforgettable International Children’s Day.
Pioneer
children’s groups and facilities, squares, streets,
children’s homes, pediatric
hospitals and wards, both in rural and urban areas
throughout the island, will host this fiesta.
On Friday, Cuban children and adolescents will send their
contemporaries in all parts of the planet a message of
friendship and confidence in the future, highlighted Manuel
Valera, vice-president of the Jose Marti Pioneer Children’s
Organization.
Valera informed that on June 1st there will be special
activities at schools, carried out by pioneer children, boy
and girl scouts, amateur artists and creators, among others.
The celebration will include innumerable cultural, sports,
didactic and recreational options.
The El Salvador Primary School of the municipality of Old
Havana will be the main venue of this festivity, which will
have the enthusiastic support of families, communities,
institutions, and society as a whole.
In 1954, the UN General Assembly established the annual
celebration of an International Children’s Day for the
well-being of children and for understanding and fraternity
between all of them around the world, in the date each State
decided, and Cuba, like other nations, chose June 1st.
