Mexican Guitarists Perform at Cubadisco 2012
HAVANA, Cuba, May 24 (acn) The Tetraktys guitar quartet and
Fernando Luna, the two of them from Mexico, offered a
concert on Wednesday at Havana’s ALBA Cultural Center,
within the framework of the 16th edition of Cubadisco
-Cuba’s International Record Fair and Contest-, dedicated on
this occasion to the guitar.

Invited to the island by
the Fair’s Organizing Committee, the quartet is composed of
students with the National Music School of the National
Autonomous University of Mexico, explained Cuban musician
Antonio Rodriguez, professor of the group.
Miguel Rivera, Luis Enrique
Estrada, Jose Joel and Hugo Armando Medina are the members
of "Tetraktys." They perform the music of great artists of
Latin American contemporary guitar, although they also
interpret classics by authors from around the world in a
beautiful way, he said.
"Tetraktys" will play for
the Havana public at the Minor Basilica of Old Havana’s San
Francisco de Assisi Convent on Friday, at 6:00 p.m., where
they will share the stage with Cubans Barbara Llanes
(soprano) and Mayte Aboy and Dario Martin (pianists.)
