Sixth International Law and Justice Meeting Kicks Off in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, may 23 (acn) The 6th International Justice and Law Meeting began on Wednesday in Havana with the objective of demonstrating the Cuban achievements in the legal field and promote exchange of experiences among professionals from 14 nations.

During the three day meeting, held at Havana´s International Convention Center, over 500 delegates and guests will debate issues regarding access to legal service in Latin America.

The scientific program highlights topics like Family Law, alternative to parole, the reinsertion of prisoners into society and the advances in prisoner treatment.

Ruben Remigio Ferro, President of the Supreme Court expressed that this meeting is aimed at presenting a counter offensive to the anti Cuba campaigns by the mass media in their attempt to discredit the island and
silence its achievements in legal management.

The meeting constitutes a scientific-legal space of international prestige with the participation of renowned figures like Supreme Court presidents and judges, specialists, academics and professors from different latitudes.

The international meeting is sponsored by the Supreme Court, the Association of Cuban Jurists and School of Law of the University of Havana.
