Children’s Theater Company La Colmenita Captivates Canadian
Public
HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 19 (acn) The Cuban children’s theater company
La Colmenita continues to captivate the Canadian public after
their recent successful performances in Ottawa and Montreal,
where they presented the pieces ‘La Cenicienta…segun los
Beatles’ (Cinderella…according to The Beatles) and
‘Abracadabra.’
This tour around Canada, which
ends in Toronto on Saturday, is taking
place at the invitation of the Havanarte producer and the Cuban
diplomatic
Mission in Canada (the Embassy in Ottawa and the general
consulates in
Toronto and Montreal).
According to Juventud Rebelde newspaper, after performing at the
FACE
Auditorium in Montreal, and at the Canadian Montessori Academy
in Ottawa,
the Cuban company —directed by Carlos Alberto Cremata— has
performances
scheduled for the Royal Theatre of Toronto on Thursday and
Saturday.
During their visit to Canada, the members of La Colmenita —a
UNICEF
Goodwill Ambassador— have met with activists of the Movement in
Solidarity
with Cuba and the Committees for the Freedom of the Cuban Five
in
Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Niagara.
