The Cuban Film Habanastation Wins Prize in Egypt
HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 30 (acn) The
Cuban film Habanastation won on Friday the special prize of
the jury in the 21st edition of the International Film
Festival for Children of El Cairo, capital
of Egypt.
The prize-winning
movie by director Ian Padron received the special trophy in
the feature film category.
Mexico, with Bacalar, obtained second prize in the same
category, being the other Latin American nation with an
outstanding participation in the event, in which 90 works
competed.
Selected to represent Cuba in the 2012 Oscar Awards in the
category of Best Foreign Film, Padron’s production won five
prizes in Havana’s International Festival of the New Latin
American Cinema.
