The titles were for world champions Rosniel Iglesias (64 kg) and Julio
Cesar La Cruz (81 kg), as well as for Jose Angel Larduet (91 kg), Yasnier
Toledo (60 kg), Arisnoidys Despaigne (69 kg), and Erislandy Savon (+91 kg).

In their final bouts, Iglesias beat local Zdenek Chladk 18-9, La Cruz
downed Lithuanian Daugirdas Simjotas 20-8, Despaigne defeated Moldavian
Vasilii Belous 10-7, Savon trounced Russian Danis Latipov 21-5, and
Hungarian Jozsef Darmos did not show up for his bout against Larduet.

Cuba participated in the event with only seven men. The only one who did
not make the podium was world champion Lazaro Alvarez (56 kg).
