Art
and Light at Old Havana’s Cathedral Square in Honor of the
Pope
HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 25 (acn) On
the occasion of the visit of His Holiness, Pope Benedict
XVI, to Cuba, the baroque facade of Old Havana’s Cathedral
Square, see of the city’s Archdiocese, will
be covered in lights and colors on March 25, 26 and 27, from
7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
The celebration,
another demonstration of jubilation for the presence of the
Supreme Pontiff in Cuba, consists in a feast of color and
lights called Arte Luz, (Art and Lights) by Italian-French
artist Gaspare Di Caro.
The Catholic Temple, located on the former Plaza de la
Cienaga – presently Cathedral Square – will be decked out
for the visit with a spectacular design of lights and images
projected onto the walls of the building, creating a unique
environment.
The event is sponsored by the Brazilian-Paraguayan
foundation called ITAIOU Technological Park, the
Organization of Iberian-American States, the City
Historian’s Office, the Felix Varela Cultural Center, and
the Office of the Archbishopric of Havana.
