Website Places Brisas Sierra Mar Among Cuba’s Top Hotels
SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Feb 1 (acn)
Monarc.ca, an important Canadian website for hotel reviews,
granted one of its 2011 awards to the Brisas Sierra Mar-Los
Galeones hotel, anchored at the southern coast of Santiago
de Cuba, in the municipality of Guama.
In an email sent
to the resort, Monarc.ca’s general manager Fabrice Bozon
said Brisas Sierra Mar-Los Galeones received 47,000 reviews
by travelers
over the last 12 months, which won the facility the
recognition.
Facing the ocean and with the mountains of Sierra Maestra in
the
background, the hotel run by Cuba’s Grupo Cubanacan stands
out among
sun-and-beach destinations, according to Bozon.
Opened in January of 1994, Sierra Mar raises up to nine
floors in an
irregular topography in the form of terraces from where
guests enjoy a
beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea and the highest peak of
the island,
Pico Turquino.
On the other hand, Los Galeones, inaugurated in July, 1991
with 34 rooms,
is anchored 60 meters above sea level and is specially
designed for
couples due to the intimacy of the place surrounded by
plants.
Sales representative Ramon Cost said Canada is the resort’s
main market;
he said to be happy about the costumers’ comments on
Monarc.ca.
Mark Thompson and James R. Preston, tourists from Ontario,
regular guests
at the resort, said they are attracted by the facility’s
location, the
high quality of the service and the nice staff.
