The titles were for Yurisleidis Lupetey (57 kg), Onix Cortes (70 kg),
Yalennis Castillo (78 kg) and Idalis Ortiz (+78 kg). Meanwhile, the silver
was for Dayaris Mestre (48 kg) and the bronze, for Yanet Bermoy (52 kg).

The other Cuban competitor, Yaritza Abel (63 kg), placed ninth.

In all, the Cuban judokas held 41 bouts and won 38 —29 of them by Ippon
(similar to K.O. in boxing).

The Cuban team is on a European tour trying to add points to their world
ranking classification, which grants direct tickets to the London 2012
Olympic Games.

On February 4-5 they will attend the Grand Slam of Paris and later they
will participate in the World Cup (Feb. 11-12) of Budapest, Hungary; the
Grand Prix (Feb. 18-19) of Düsseldorf in Germany; and the World Cup (Feb.
25-26) of Warsaw, Poland.
