Then, and through the
lens of Roberto Chile, the documentary “Escencias,
la Colmenita en Estados Unidos” (Essence, the little beehive
in the United
States) was born, which will be premiered this Wednesday on
Cuban television.
The work, 68 minutes in length, resume the journey of love,
peace and
goodwill that the Cuban children took around the U.S.
In an exclusive interview to ACN, Roberto Chile said:
“Personally,
travelling with those talented Cuban children became a gift
of fate, whose
biggest challenge was to reveal the emotions aroused by The
Beehive in the
American public, thanks to the imagination and creativity of
that other
big boy by the name of Carlos Alberto Cremata (Tin).”
The film begins in New York due to the delay by the U.S.
State Department
to grant visas to its filmmaker, “and although the work does
not show the
full tour, says
Chile, it supports the view that the friendship and
solidarity do not
stand blockades.”
For the Cuban filmmaker it is excellent idea that has been
decided to
premier the new documentary to coincide with the 159
anniversary of the
birth of our Apostle José Martí.
“When I received word that this would be the case, I felt an
infinite joy,
because all who participated in making the tape and the
entire Little
Beehive, are burning with desire for our people and friends
around the
world, especially the U.S., to share their art and the
indelible part of
the emotions experienced during the tour.”
The Little Beehive, declared by UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador
in 2007, took
to the US the shows “the Cockroach Martina”, “Abracadabra”,
and appeared
in various American places in which it awakened love,
affection and
solidarity in all of their audiences.
Along with Chile, who worked as cameraman, scriptwriter and
director, the
team was made up by Salvador Combarro, as editor; René Baños,
was
responsible for the original music, the narration was done
by Claudia
Alvariño and graphic design was made by Reynier Aquino.
“If this documentary contributes one bit to the spread in
the U.S. and
elsewhere the knowledge of the injustice against our Five
Heroes, I will
feel much happier than I already am”
