Cuba Denounces Increase of U.S. Radio and Television Aggressions
HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 23 (acn)
Cuba denounced on Monday the increase of U.S. radio and television
broadcasts against the island at the World Radiocommunications
Conference held in Geneva.
|
The head of
Regulations and Norms of the Cuban Informatics and
Communications Ministry, Wilfredo Lopez, criticized Washington's
violation
of international law, especially radio-communications
regulations.
During his speech at the plenary session of the Conference,
Lopez said
television programs continue to be broadcast targeting Cubans
from a plane
owned by the U.S. government.
”It is unacceptable that the U.S. government ignores and
violates the
regulations and commitments reached by the international
community,” Lopez
stressed.
The conference, which will run until February 17, is held every
five years
to facilitate equitable access and rational use of
radio-electric
frequencies, as well as the effective functioning of all
radio-communication services.
