Iranian
President Speaks Up for Fairer World Order
HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 11 (acn) The
Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad spoke up in Havana for
a new world order to be fairer, equitable and cooperative,
where all humans are respected as equals.
The head of state
received this Wednesday the the University of Havana's
Doctor Honoris Causa in Political Sciences title at the
institution’s Aula
Magna auditorium. Addressing the audience in the ceremony,
he insisted on
the need to face the imperialist powers’ hegemony by keeping
united.
The Iranian president said capitalism’s decline is
undeniable and noted
that being based on injustice, the exploitation of other
country’s
resources and the arms race have come to a dead end in both
the political
and economic spheres.
Ahmadinejad called to keeping alert face with a regime that
turns to
violence, interference and genocide with the purpose of
expanding its
domains and defending its interests.
Meanwhile, he stressed that unity was the only way to fight
such powers
and that his county will always be beside Cuba in the
endeavor of making
up a new future.
The ceremony at the University of Havana was presided over
by Cuban Vice
President Esteban Lazo Hernandez, and Rector Gustavo
Cobreiro.
Mahmud Ahmadinejad started an official visit to Cuba on
January 11. He is
expected to meet with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro.
From Havana he will travel on Thursday to Ecuador where he
will conclude
his Latin American tour.
Cuba and Iran maintain excellent relations and have jointly
developed
important cooperation programs in the fields of energy,
biotechnology and
commerce.
