TRevuelta was one of the founders, in 1958 along with his sister Raquel
Revuelta, of the Teatro Studio theater group, which later became an
emblematic company that represented the best of the Cuban and
international theater repertoire.

In 1946, he started his artistic carreer as an actor in the play
“Forbidden to Commit Suicide in Springtime” directed by Alejandro Casona.
A few years later he joined the Nuestro Tiempo Cultural Society where he
used to teach seminars and lectures.

After founding Teatro Studio, he directed and participated as an actor in
many plays and films.

Revuelta made many tours and gave lectures in more than 15 countries of
Latin America and Europe. His plays were staged in a wide number of
theaters worldwide.

In recognition of his work as a theater instructor at several cultural
institutions and the Higher Institute of Art (ISA), Revuelta received the
Doctor Honoris Causa in Art honorary title from ISA.

Considered as one of the most outstanding actors and theater directors of
Latin America, Revuelta’s death leaves a void in the Cuban theater and
culture.
