Valdes, Vice-president of the
councils of State and Ministers, who is heading the Cuban
delegation to the official functions for the inauguration of
President Daniel Ortega, held "a conversation between
brothers,” at the Cuban embassy, with diplomats and
internationalist workers.
In statements to the Prensa Latina news agency he asserted
that governments with progressive stances like those of the
Sandinista National Liberation Front favor the process of
unity, which in short-term or medium-term could progress in
the economic, commercial and monetary fields and in the
promotion of industrial capacities.
We’ve always had Nicaragua’s support in the struggle against
the blockade against Cuba maintained by successive US
administrations, as well as in the struggle for the release
of five Cuban antiterrorists incarcerated in that northern
country, concluded Valdes.
