After announcing the new publication on Monday,
the young author, 24, told the local press that, in her poems,
she tried to reflect the main conflicts of common people’s
everyday life.
While assessing the text for its publication, critics described
her verses as “essentially human, ranging from irony or
skepticism to reflection and anguish,” characterized by their
concision, brevity and convincing phrases, stated the experts.
Marienne Lufriu, an Arts Graduate from the University of Havana
and from the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Literary Training Center, has
obtained awards like the NOSSIDE CARIBE 2003 International
Poetry Prize. She ended second and third in the Farraluque 2006
Erotic Literature Prize and the Mangle Rojo 2007 Narrative
Prize, respectively. She was also given the Calendario 2008
Poetry Prize.
La ruta incierta (Loynaz Editions, 2008) and Todos los semaforos
en rojo (Abril Publishing House, 2009), in addition to other
works in anthologies, magazines and newspapers of Spain, Italy,
Mexico and Venezuela are among Lufriu’s publications.
