Cuba and Belarus Pave the Way for Strengthening Communications Bonds
HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 10 (acn)
The Cuban ambassador to Belarus, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, discussed
in Minsk with the general director of the State-run Radio and
Television Company, Guennady Davydko, perspectives for collaboration
between the two countries in the communications field.

The Cuban diplomat
offered details about the island’s radio and television
system’s functioning, making emphasis in that its main mission
is to meet
the information, education, cultural and entertainment needs of
the people.
Davydko said strengthening cooperation bonds in the sector and
particularly in spreading the image of the two nations would
have a very
positive impact, reported Prensa Latina.
Nieves Portuondo and Davydko also talked about activities that
will be
carried out to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of
diplomatic relations between Cuba and Belarus, on April 16.
Following the meeting, the Cuban ambassador granted an interview
to
Belarus Uno television channel in which he announced that the
two
countries are expected to sign a memorandum that will strengthen
cooperation in the field of communications.
