Cuban Intellectual Armando Hart Granted National Pedagogy Prize
HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 9 (acn) The Association of Cuban Pedagogues
granted the National Pedagogy Prize 2011 to Armando Hart Davalos,
director of the Oficina del Programa Martiano (Office of Marti’s
Program), for his contribution to the educational development in
Cuba.

The jury, presided over by Dr. Daisy Rivero
Alvisa, decided to give Hart
the award also “for being a tireless revolutionary who has
dedicated his
life to defend the school where patriots are formed.”
The resolution announcing the decision reads that the
prestigious
intellectual continues to give a valuable contribution to the
Cuban people
and to Latin America through the teachings of Cuba’s National
Hero, Jose
Marti, and the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
Armando Hart will receive the award during a solemn ceremony
scheduled for
January 12 at the venue of the Havana-based Center of Studies on
Jose
Marti’s Life and Work.
