Marthe Rosine accompanied her
husband for his first visit to the island on December 3, 1964,
at the invitation of the Cuban government, to give keynote
lectures and organize a course at the university, the Prensa
Latina news agency reported.
The main contribution to science of the French physicist and
chemist born in 1903 was related to agriculture and cattle
raising and was worldwide known for his theory on intensive
grazing, a topic he tackled in abundant bibliography.
Voisin, who died from a heart attack on December 21, 1964, was
buried in Havana, and from then on Marthe Rosine began a lasting
relationship of friendship and love with Cuba, where she
traveled on many occasions.
In 2003, she attended the activities scheduled in Cuba for the
centennial of the birth of her husband, whom she also worked
with.
The burial of Marthe Rosine Voisin will take place on Friday,
January 6, in Arques la
bataille, Seine-Maritime, where she lived until her death.
