Cuba Launches Two New Rums to Foreign Markets
HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 3 (acn) The
launching of two new dark rums, Cubay Carta Dorada and Cubay
Añejo Suave, increases the number of products Cuba Ron S.A.
will commercialize abroad in 2012.
Both beverages
keep the traditional way of aging in their making, like all
Cuban rums, which make them among the most look for rums
worldwide.
The head of the Cuba Ron S.A export department Jorge Cardoso
said that in
the framework of the Havana International Fair they signed
several
contracts with distributing companies in Germany, the
Netherlands and Chile.
The Cubay brand, as its distinctive trademark, has its
origin in 1964 in
Havana, and at the beginning was only to produce liquors.
In order to diversify its choices for its clients, in 2011
Cuban launched
the Cubay Cola and Elixir del Ron Cubay, addressing new
tastes and
expectations that will enable the company to seek new
international markets.
Cardoso explained that the Cuban rums exports grew in 2011,
despite the
world crisis that affected their sales mainly in Europe, one
of their
largest markets. Santiago de Cuba and Cubay were the Cuban
brands with
better performance during that period.
The new strategy for 2012, he said, will be to boost Arecha,
another
famous brand, especially in new markets in Africa and
Europe.
