Regarding Cuba, Clinton’s report has over 30 pages but according
to analysts, does not contribute with anything new. It is
repetitive when it comes to “lack of respect for human rights,
civil liberties, etc”…They are issues in which the Cuban people
are used to. It’s as simple as that.
What is interesting about what the reports says is the current
in situation in the Middle East when the Secretary of State says
that its good news when regarding the “social” movements in
different nations of the region and Africa saying that “they are
fighting for their liberties and universal rights”…
But
she forgot to include all the ships, airplanes, troops,
intelligence agencies and NGO’s from the United States that have
contributed in creating chaos in those territories aimed at
controlling its natural resources to guarantee the
sustainability of its “establishment”. The report does not
mention the “embarrassment in El Paso, Texas”, as denounced by
Cuba regarding terrorist Luis Posada Carriles which is
contradictory with the anti terrorist policy that the US says it
champions.
It does not mention the recent State Department denial for John
McAuliff and his group to participate in the 2nd Festival of
Celtic Music and Traditions to be held in Havana from April 15th
to the 26th with the participation of artists from Ireland,
Spain, Canada and Cuba.
That there are some 20 million women in the US that have been
subjected to sexual abuse or aggression; No, the issue does not
appear in Ms. Clinton’s report and does not seem to be of any
importance. Same happens with several shootings in US public
schools.
The government of the People’s Republic of China has condemned
such document and stressed that it’s a “political instrument to
damage the image of other nations and to look for its own
strategic interests” and is an example of the hypocrisy used in
the text with the objective to consolidate its world hegemony.
The United States “should look after its domestic affairs” and
stop “interfering in the policies of other countries”, condemned
the Chinese government.
Under
the pretext of the “war on terrorism”, according to different
reports, the powerful North has committed countless number of
“public and notorious” abuses against those detained in secret
bases.
Washington meanwhile has refused to sign international treaties
or join global conventions regarding human rights. Strange,
isn’t it? To scribble out reports seems to be unnecessary when
we refer to the shameless US government, giving itself the right
to judge others without looking at their internal problems.
Does the United States ever have the moral authority to question
any nation on the issue of human rights when there are
consistent violations in its own soil? Hillary once again
returns to her demagogic role.
It
is difficult to criticize or condemn others, when one lacks
morale.
