UJC Leader Says 2012 will be a Big Year for Cuban Youth
HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 29 (acn) The
First Secretary of the Cuban Young Communist League Liudmila
Alamo said 2012 will be a year of tireless work, but also of
great joy for the younger generations of Cubans.
In an exclusive interview with
ACN, Alamo, who is also a member of the
Cuban Communist Party’s Central Committee (PCC) said 2011
has been a very
intense year for the Cuban youth with an active
participation in all
fields of society.
She mentioned in particular the youth’s support of the
process of analysis
of the Political, Econmic and Social draft guidelines and
the celebration
of the Fifth Congress of Pioneers (first to ninth graders)
For the Cuban children, teenagers and youngsters this year
has been marked
by the step-up of the fight for the return to the island of
the five Cuban
anti-terrorist fighters serving hard sentences in the U.S.:
Gerardo
Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero
and Fernando
Gonzalez.
Alamo called the younger generations of Cubans to keep up
the good work
and maintain the same high spirits and continue contributing
to the
progress of the country.
In 2012, the organization will be celebrating its 50th
anniversary.
