Historian Eusebio Leal to Receive Foedus Award
HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 25 (acn) Havana Historian Eusebio Leal has won
the Foedus Award 2011, granted by the Foedus Foundation to
personalities that distinguish themselves for their work in the
fields of culture and solidarity.

Mario Baccini, president of this institution with
offices in Rome and New
York, said the award was granted to Eusebio Leal for his work in
the
recovery and restoration of Old Havana and in favor of the
promotion of
social life, culture, and solidarity.
Baccini added that Eusebio Leal also promotes the implementation
of
policies to protect the environment and natural resources, and
progress in
the field of science and technology.
The struggle against poverty is also part of the premises of the
Foedus
Foundation, whose name is a Roman term that suggests alliance
and loyalty
in any aspects of human life.
Eusebio Leal’s work for the restoration of Old Havana has been
recognized
by prestigious international organizations.
The awards ceremony will take place on December 14 in the
Italian capital.
