A panel of specialists and
relatives of Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo
Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero and Ramon Labañino, y Rene Gonzalez
––internationally known as the Cuban Five–– will answer
questions by
internauts on the present situation of these antiterrorists.
Fernando, Gerardo, Antonio, and Ramon still remain in U.S.
prisons for 13
years now; whereas Rene was imposed with and additional
three-year
supervised release that prevents him from returning to Cuba with
his family.
The program of the event started on Wednesday with a bicycle
race and will
continue with the panel “The people of the world accuse Luis
Posada
Carriles”, confessed author of the sabotage of the bombing of a
mid-air
Cuban civil airplane, where all passengers on board were killed,
who walks
freely through U.S streets.
As of today’s agenda, the Colloquium will also screen the
documentary “Ni
un dia mas en prision” (Not another day in prison), and will
host a
meeting of the International Committee and the Commission on the
Five from
the Cuban Institute of Friendship (ICAP) with representatives of
solidarity groups with the Five.
According to a delegate from ICAP in the eastern province of
Holguin,
Amaury Torno, about 300 delegates from 47 nations are taking
part in this
year’s event.
The International Colloquium to Free the Cuban Five, is held
annually
since 2005, in Holguin, some 770 kilometers east of Havana city.
