According to Prensa Latina news agency, the
renowned composer will be accompanied by a group of artists from
the Boston-based Berklee College of Music —the largest
independent college of contemporary music in the world—, of
which he is a professor.
On this occasion, Leonard will bring his latest production,
Marcel’s Window (2011), which features guests such as bass
player Orlando ‘Cachaito’ Lopez, a member of the Buena Vista
Social Club.
Some of his most popular songs include Invisible Cities,
Resounding Arc, Alex in the Atrium, and Marcel’s Window.
Over recent years, Leonard has encouraged and promoted cultural
exchange
between graduates from the Berklee College of Music and their
colleagues in Cuba.
Leonard’s most recent visit to Cuba was last May, when he came
ahead of a
delegation to participate in the annual Cubadisco International
Music Festival. On that occasion, he offered concerts and
workshops in cooperation with Cuban cultural institutions.
