Italian Ambassador Says Culture is the Cornerstone of Relations
with Cuba
HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 14 (acn) Italian ambassador to Cuba Marco
Baccini dubbed culture as the cornerstone of the bilateral
relations, which is the result of the mutual attraction, he
said.

Baccine attended the ““En La Habana: moda y arte
italiano” (In Havana:
Italian fashion and art) gala, held at the Florida Hotel in this
city, in
the framework of a series of exchanges that run through November
19 that
celebrate the 150 anniversary of the Italian unification.
He said the bilateral bonds are strong, and developing, and
added that his
job was precisely to continue strengthening and diversifying
them.
Ana Lourdes Soto, president of the Patrimony, Community and
Enviroment
Civil Society, based in Old Havana, praised the harmony and
understanding
between Cuba and Italy.
The exchanges will include photography workshops, clothing
design and
goldsmith works among others, she announced.
Magda Resik, on behalf of the Havana Historian Office, said it
was a
pleasure to cooperate with these initiatives and recalled that
Cubans have
Latin roots, a common source language with Italians as well as
strong
historical and cultural ties between the two peoples.
The activity included a runway of valuable customs belonging to
the
Marrucio theater worn during the playing of important
masterpieces such as
Don Giovanni, Madame Butterfly and Carmen among many outstanding
musical
shows.
