Cuban and Colombian Children Stage a Wonderful Show in Havana
HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 10 (acn) Members of the Youth Philharmonic of
Bogotá and “La Colmenita” children theater companies of Cuba and
Colombia offered a wonderful show with the staging of “Martina,
the Little Roach” Thursday evening at the Karl Marx Theater in
Havana.
|
The audience was blown away by the Colombian
orchestra’s interpretation of
the complex score composed by Amaury Malberti, who directed the
band, for
the play, which was staged for the first time with live music.
Beyond the undeniable artistic values of this fraternal
ensemble, the
audience at the Karl Marx Theater -unusually packed for the time
and day
of the week (6:00pm, Thursday)- was captivated by the children’s
dedication and tenderness.
As a special thank-you gift, the director of the visiting
Philharmonic
Orchestra, maestro Fabian Cotelo, regaled the public with the
performance
of “La Bella Cubana” by Jose White.
The Colombian cultural project inspired on Cuba’s La Colmenita
is made up
of 60 children and youngsters, under the direction of Jose
Francisco
Arroyo Sanabria, an outstanding violinist of the Philharmonic of
Bogotá.
This special show will be offered once again on Friday. The
visiting
artists will be returning to their homeland on Saturday.
