Cuba Received Record Number of Visitors from Argentina
HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 8 (acn) Cuba
received from January to October a record number of 64,705 visitors
from Argentina, in a year in which the island is expected to welcome
around 2.7 million international tourists.

The number of inbound
travelers from the South American country has shown
an increase by 28.55 percent as compared with the same period
last year,
the director of the Cuban Tourism Promotion and Information
Office in the
Southern Cone, Luis Aguilera, told Prensa Latina.
Likewise, they represent more than half of visitors form the
Southern
Cone, the area comprising Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and
Uruguay, who have
traveled to Cuban destinations.
In views of the increasing trend, from January thru April of
2012, both
countries have planned for the largest air operation ever
between the two
nations, according to the www.cubadiplomatica.cu website.
Aguilera announced that the number of weekly direct flights from
Buenos
Aires and the Cuban cities of Havana, Varadero, Cayo Largo, Cayo
Coco,
Santa Clara and Holguin will increase to eight in that period.
Cuba is looking to receive 2.9 million travelers from all over
the world
in 2012, according to recent statements by Cuban Tourism
Minister Manuel
Marrero.
