In a
conversation with Europa Press, the founder of the celebrated
company joked about the matter of who’s going to succeed her in that
responsibility, because she plans to live 200 years, the Cubadebate
Web site reported.
During the
presentation of Swan Lake, on stage again starting from Wednesday at
Barcelona’s Tivoli Theater, she asserted that she’s pleased with her
experiences and family life, and acknowledged the importance of
ballet for her existence.
With the
energy and enthusiasm that characterizes her, she pointed out that
she loves life very much and that she will give it all she’s got and
pass on her knowledge to other generations of dancers as long as she
lives.
She
expressed satisfaction for her artistic career which, during 2010,
was acknowledged with tributes in theaters as important as the
Covent Garden of London, the Opera House of Sydney, the Metropolitan
Opera House of New York, and the Bolshoi Theater of Moscow.
She
condemned the US blockade against Cuba, adding that it makes no
sense, since Cubans always find strength to carry on, plant,
produce, and be self-sufficient.
