Steels bands from El Cobre, in Santiago de Cuba, Havana, and Trinidad and Tobago —the country to which the cultural event is dedicated this year— are scheduled to participate in the highly anticipated contest.

Thursday’s program also includes the cultural show ‘Ode to Yemaya’, a religious ritual dedicated to the goddess of the sea in the Yoruba religion.

The last day of the Caribbean Festival —also known as the Fire Fiesta— on Friday will bring a Rumba meeting and the Fire Parade with the traditional Devil Burning.

The Caribbean Festival, which will be dedicated to Martinique next year, is a cultural meeting to celebrate the most authentic traditions, culture, and spirituality of the peoples of the region.
