One of these debates deals with the principle
of non-violence in the relations among countries and
peoples, and on the urge to prioritize every solution based
on negotiation and respect so as to solve any differences as
civilized and rational human beings.
Unfortunately, these concepts are usually simple fiction;
they are terms used to embellish dull rhetoric, and just a
matter of image, in the words of anyone fond of decoration.
Such distortion is the work of those who rely on arrogance
and underestimation towards others as a way of life and a
way to exploit and plunder by all means possible, for their
personal benefit, regardless of the costs of such inhuman
behaviour.
These people manipulate and castrate the principles of
international coexistence; they hide their sins and nonsense
as well as those of their closest circles; and they blur and
lie about every step of those they consider undesirable
enemies.
They give priority to violence and imposition, and disregard
dialogue and understanding based on respect.
That’s the reason why, once again Cuba, along other
progressive nations, demanded the UN to fully implement
balanced and fair negotiations over any kind of violent
actions when faced with regional and global issues.
It is necessary to monitor with efficiency any kind of
attitude that would favour aggressiveness and war actions to
settle differences, in order to leave behind, once and for
all, the horror caused by the crazy ideas and unlimited
ambitions of those in power.
Thomas Jefferson, who probably no U.S. citizen would ever
question, said that power, used in an uncontrolled manner,
becomes absolute power, and obviously: the most reactionary
fellow citizens of this figure in the history of the United
States comply by this warning, but all the way around.
If the control and respect of international coexistence laws
undermine the supremacy of the powerful, then the suitable
thing to do would be to ignore them and bury them.
In order to counteract this reality, Cuba has demanded once
more respect for all peoples before the most important
international forum. In addition, it has requested to turn
understanding into a key aspect of global behaviour, by all
means.
