Cuban Delegation for Special Olympics Games Travels to Athens
HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 23 (acn) The Cuban delegation that will
participate in the 13th Special Olympics World Summer Games traveled
to Messolonghi, in Athens, Greece, on Wednesday.

The
Cuban athletes are taking advantage of their early arrival to
know the history, traditions and idiosyncrasy of the Greeks; as
well as for adapting to time differences ––seven hours
difference with Cuba.
The Cuban television special envoy, Aurelio Prieto Aleman, noted
that the among the ten members of the Cuban delegation there are
six track and field athletes, two rhythmic gymnasts, and two
weightlifters.
Prieto mentioned that the Cubans will stay in Messolonghi until
Saturday, when they will travel to Athens for the inauguration
of the Games.
The 13th World Summer Games Special Olympics will take place
from June 25 to July 4, with the attendance of 7,000 sportsmen
from 185 nations. This event is organized for athletes with
intellectual disabilities.
