Launch Internet Blog About Cuban Five
HAVANA, Cuba, May 10 (acn) An internet blog about the five Cuban
antiterrorist fighters imprisoned in the US was recently
inaugurated by several Haitian organizations in solidarity with
Cuba at
www.haitiporloscinco.blogspot.com.
|
The blog (in Spanish) is named "Haiti por la liberación de
los Cinco Héroes” (Haiti for the Liberation of the Five
Heroes) and it is supported by members of social
organizations, cultural personalities and intellectuals,
political figures and clubs of solidarity with Cuba, says a
press release posted at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign
Affairs’ website www.cubaminrex.cu.
The blog comprises news articles about actions held in the
neighboring country for the release of the Cuban Five. Such
actions include radio debates, meetings in solidarity with
the Cuban Five, statements by several organizations and
personalities in favor of the freedom of the Cuban Five,
etc.
The purpose of the blog is to break the silence of the
mainstream media about the issue and find new voices that
can join the battle for the freedom of Gerardo Hernandez,
Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene
Gonzalez, says Minrex's report.
The Cuban Five have been imprisoned in the US since 1998 for
having penetrated Florida-based anti-Cuba groups to prevent
attacks and sabotages against their homeland.
