Accompanied by Cuban consul Jesus Garcia and
exponents of his country’s ballet and that of Yucatan, Alicia
pointed out that receiving the acknowledgement and the love of
human beings is the most beautiful thing that can happen to her.
The Web site of El Universal de Mexico newspaper
reported that the town council’s aldermen, headed by the mayor,
expressed their joy and pride for having the internationally
famous Cuban dancer and ballet director in Merida.
In the presence of several media outlets, classic
dance professors and directors of the city council, the
municipal president told Alicia that the medal contains the love
of Merida residents.
Likewise, she expressed her gratitude to the BNC
director for regaling them with her art and sensitivity, by way
of the ballet company she’s heading.
The second and last presentation of Swan Lake by
the BNC will take place on Saturday at the atrium of Merida’s
Cathedral, as part of its tour of several Mexican cities.
