Cuban singer songwriter Silvio Rodriguez will open the concert on the first day of the event. The show will feature other renowned Cuban musicians and bands like Carlos Varela, X Alfonso, Zeus and Hipnosis, according to organizers.

Organized in Cuba by the Fábrica de Arte cubano (Cuban Art Factory) project, the Festival seeks to become an annual event in the island, said Fabrica leader X Alfonso.

The Swedish bands Timbuktu & Damn, Familjen, Looptroop Rockers and The Badoon Show will perform in Havana as part of the Festival.

Singer songwriter Carlos Varela said the concerts of the Swedish bands are a highlight and noted that it will be a wonderful opportunity for the Cuban people to have this contact with the culture of the European nation.

Varela added that the event will be also a great opportunity to promote the Cuban diversity and cultural exchange through music.

Peace and Love emerged in 1999 in the Swedish city of Borlänge based on pacifist and ecological principles. Ever since then, it has been expanded to Chile and the Unite States with the participation of Alice in Chains, Jay Z, Patti Smith, Motörhead, and other renowned artists.

Sponsored by the UN Children’s Fund, the Cuban Music Institute and the Metropolitan Park of Havana, the event is expected to bring together half a hundred creators.

From Cuba, the Love in project and the Harley Davidson motorcycle club will take part in the event. Films of the fiesta in Havana will be screened in the Sweden festival, X Alfonso announced.
