According to a member of the event’s Organizing
Committee, Marilda Cano, it will take place in the exhibition
center Expo-Holguin, in that eastern Cuban province, with 57
stands for representatives from different Cuban provinces ––such
as Matanzas, Villa Clara, Las Tunas, Guantanamo,
Santiago de Cuba, Havana and host Holguin––, and several
countries like Belgium, Ecuador, Venezuela, England, Spain,
Panama, Germany and Russia. The exhibitions will deal with
construction materials, metals, mechanic and electro-mechanic
equipment, spare pieces, mechanical bearings and other supplies
for tourism.
The vice president of the local government in Holguin and
president of the Organizing Committee, Daniel Tarrago, talked
about the ever growing participation of national and foreign
companies in this event, looking for the substitution of imports
and the increase of exports.
Tarragon added that Holguin has a solid infrastructure and
several important sectors like tourism; the nickel, iron, steel
and sugar industries; informatics; and construction; which makes
it attractive for doing business.
