This
year’s festival is dedicated to Venezuela and includes the
screening of films that are not included in the competition, as
well as a theoretical event.
The program also includes a workshop for children and
adolescents aimed at raising their interest on documentary
films.
Some of the best Venezuelan documentary and animated movies will
be screeed during the Festival running until March 13.
A jury made up of specialists from different countries will
evaluate the films in competition in the categories of
Documentary, Project,
Photography and a section exclusively for students of San
Antonio de los Baños Film School of Havana.
The Festival started with a tribute to the event’s namesake,
Cuban filmmaker Santiago Alvarez known for the creation of the
Latin American ICAIC News, whose chapters were registered in
2010 within UNICEF’s World Memories fund.
The films will be played in different movies across the city.
