The
book was written by local writers Ventura Carballido and Rafael
Avila who led a thorough research about the work of the largest
mass organization of the country.
Carballido is a lawyer and has been closely involved with the
CDR. He told CAN the book was published by the Editorial
Historia publishing house and it was already presented in
Venezuela.
Carballido and Avila are also co-author of the book CDR:
People’s Sap, presented in 2008 during the 7th Congress of the
organization in Havana.
Funded by Fidel Castro on September 28, 1960, the organization
emerged as a people’s surveillance system to fight counter
revolutionary attacks.
The organization seeks to have the community participate in
programs or campaigns to contribute with the Revolution.
The second stage of the 20th International Book Fair will be
taking place from Ciego de Avila to Guantanamo until March 6.
